I just don't know go by doing this . That is why I got to ask a Question on here about Trading my drums off for another old set . see I took the original cover off and stand them

what would be a value on my set in Trading in on another one

Like an old set 1970s or early 1980s .Just about the same set that I have in the picture

Pearl drums only !

bass drum is a 22 inch

rack toms are 8 , 12 , and 13 inch

floor tom is a 16 inch

Just asking now .But what if I was looking for another older set what it be worth on a trade off

To be so honest about it .Drummer to Drummer .Do you think I made a mistake for doing this or what .But lots drummers that do this like I just did

They might re wrap it or just stain them ..Or just clean them up and just keep the Original cover on there .Just leave it like it is ..

You probably wouldn't believe it if I told you ..

That was my first job to do on this drums

Stain work .LOL

I had to redo it over again

The first job just didn't look all that well I didn't put enough stain or clear on it or it just didn't stand out good enough or something was wrong

But I did it over again and I tried to put or a lot of stain and clear on it at the 2nd tine around .LOL telling you it wasn't no fun .I did it out side the 2nd time around .It was very hot .I just had to get it done as quickly as possible so it wouldn't dry as fast on me .But I guess I turn out pretty good so far .But I don't think I ever do it again

Nice setup... and IMO, nice drums.

From what I see in the pictures, these drums were of the 70s Pearl "W" series, which means a nine-ply shell with NO fiberglass sprayed on the interior (simple gray painted interior). This is probably NOT what you want to hear, because that was Pearl's "entry" level drums, as opposed to their FG and W/FG lines. During the 70s when Pearl entered into direct competition with the American "big boys," their prices on their top two lines were about the same as the big boys; however their W series sets were less expensive.

I'm saying that, based upon these observations:

1) 8 lugs per side (16 total) on the 22" BD, as well as the style of claws and T's. Their FG & W/FG lines had 10 per side (20 total) and a more streamlined type of claws and T's.

2) The type of double tom mount used was standard issue on the W-5 setup.

3) The same with the FT leg brackets.

As for having de-wrapped them, it simply doesn't hurt the value on these as much as it would have an American made set of the same era. Again, something you won't want to hear but a cold hard fact: resale value on these is NOT anywhere near a comparable American made set.

Honestly, I rarely deal with cymbals and hardware; I usually just sell the shell packs. And even in good condition, I don't think I could get more than $350 to $400 for the drums themselves. So, if you're looking to trade them, you need to figure on kicking in some cash, too.

Like I said up top, I think you've got good drums and a nice setup. So, unless you're just wanting another set (which is fine), keep them!

Just my :2Cents:,

LOL

keep them .I have any place to really put a 2nd set anywhere in my house it's to small of a house

At lease you was honest on what you said on here .

But I am really into just Trading these off for another old set .

Ludwig would be to expensive to even though of getting . I know there are mostly high dollar drums ..I really just don't want another Pearl drum

Ok

See about this

Tama vintage drums like the

Tama Granstar

Tama Superstar

Tama inperialstar

Or

Tama Swingstar

Less expensive or be more higher in a Trade off .Or could it be another vintage name in a drum set . like a Ludwig set or something els

I am just trying to get some good ideals about Trading
