1970's Ludwig BD Spur Question

Loading...

Has anyone here every tried to fabricate 5/16" curved 70's Ludwig spurs?

I recently got a Vistalie players kit that is missing a spur. I would like to give the kit a try at practice tomorrow and I am looking for a quick fix for the time being. I am wondering if it is possible to use some sort of metal rod from the local hardware store. I have done this in the past on a Club Date bass drum with decent results, but i'm guessing it will be more difficult to match the 70's 5/16" curved spurs.

Any tips or suggestions from past experience?

I plan on buying a real Ludwig spur, but I would like to use the drums in the meantime.

Also, if anyone has one for sale, please let me know.

If you have a pair of old fold out spurs from your club date, the mounts will fit in the same holes.

Oh... guess you're right.

Well, fold out spur mounts fit in the same holes, if you have any.

Do you need the spur for a 20 or 22 Vista?

The drum is 22"

Unfortunately I don't have any Ludwig fold outs, only straight telescoping spurs.

Thanks, Blair. I think I am going to wait and get a pair of the curved spurs. Greatly appreciated.
