Say there Larry, Mr. Demon, maybe this project might be something you would want a person to do that has experience doing rehabs of great old drums. There are a bunch of guys here that can rehab your drums into what you want or you can join the forum and learn to do it yourself. You should consider restoring the drums to as close as original as possible. That's not too hard for 70's Ludwigs, there are lots of parts available. Sounds like you have a great 70's kit, worth restoring. I love the 70's 5 ply, no rings, Ludwig sound. It was an early "modern" sound moving toward the thicker shells of the 70's and 80's. You have a great set of Americian drums and you should restore them by what ever means and play the sh!t out of them.
1970 Ludwig Kit
The snare stand in your pics looks like a Rogers. Every penny you spend on that kit will be worth it. Fix it up and play it.Keep on Pl
Those are 3 ply shells...sorry, but the rerings kind of tell the story.

If you buy the Gibraltar legs, be sure you get the smallest ones (9.5 mm I think). The larger ones won't fit. (Ask me how I know! DOH)

pardon my ignorance, but, what are re-rings?
And Norman, I bought a set of those 10.5 mm legs as well...
luckily the shop took them back no problem
I really want a 24inch white resonator head with the script Ludwig on it...
any ideas?

Re-rings: Thoise are the inner "hoops" of wood at the edges. They are for strengthening the shell, and have an added benefit of focusing the sound a bit on these shells. Nice resonant tone, and a bit of focus to boot.
Re-ring, rings, reinforcement rings, you will see many variations of the theme.

Get a Remo smooth white 24" head and a "vintage logo" decal off ebay or from Explorers Percussion.

Are they worth trading?
Any ideas?

Was there a Kit that had the sizes 24 BD, 18 Floor Tom and 13 Bass mounted Tom?

What you have there is a terrific players kit,the ludwig 3 ply maple poplar maple shells are considered by many to be some of the best ludwig ever made, vintage drum enthusiast/expert Cheap Trick drummer Bun E Carlos being one.Check the inside of your tom shells to see if there is a date, sometimes they ink stamped them other times not.It looks like the 13 tom has re rings and a clear interior,I would mount the 13 on the other side that you have it mounted on ,if the badge faces the audience side from standing in front of the kit,to the right it probably is the original tom,the way it is mounted now I can not see the badge, and if it was a right handed kit you would be able to see the badge from the audience side towards the left if it was a second tom. If can see the badge to the right and the white marine pearl matches the pattern of the other drums, and the int is clear with re rings I would venture to say that is the orig tom.Serial # could get you close also, but serial # dating with ludwigs from this era is not an exact science. The Double mount looks like an 80's ludwig rocker. The Snare drum, since has beavertail lugs and is tagged cleveland would be from 1963 to 1966,the most collectable ere for rogers drums, worth at least a couple hundred bucks. That kit probably came with a metal supra snare,so a later owner probably got the roger snare because it matched the rest of the kit.Because the kit has been drilled for a mount, that takes a lot of the collectors value away,if it were me I would get a bottom rim for the floor tom,you should be able to find the correct t rods and claws for not a ton of money.I would have been pleased as punch to have paid 400.00 to 500.00 for that kit,it should clean up nice and you should be proud of it.You can put any heads you want on it,but I would suggest coated single ply on the batter side of snare and toms, and clear single ply heads for the reso side of the toms, those shells are very responsive and that head combo will really accentuate that quality IMO.The K zil hi hats are worth at minimum150.00 by the way.If you want to research your kit some more try this link, there is a lot of info on ludwig, and catalogue scans also. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/
