I just have to say I keep being drawn back to this thread to view the pictures of this beautiful little kit.... really nice drums, you are very fortunate!

I'll dig around on that snare and see what I can come up with.

You know I was kind of leaning toward maybe a 7x14 Hollywood Ace with that Rapid Strainer.

The Concert Hall and Standard Concert Model have strainer between the dampener and the vent.

I'll keep digging... :)

Beautiful set of drums! Do the bass drum spurs work okay? They seem almost a little far back which would make the bass drum rock back and fourth. I love my jazzette as they are very cool and unique Ludwig drums. I would defiantely hang on to those!

The spurs work great, there was a little balance problem but i messed with the position of the tom until it was right. I was going to use a ludwig speedking pedal but the dw pedal is a little heavy and keeps the small bass drum pretty well balanced. I also tilted the bass towards me at a good angle. Let me know what jazzete kits you have i have become really interested in these drums. Also i was thinking about getting a new ludwig logo head for the front of the bass, do you know which logo it would have originally had. Thanks for your time.:)

Hey John do you think you could pop a couple pictures of that Slingerland snare out in a SEPERATE thread so that it will get the attention of some of these Slingerland gurus.

Probably be good to know exactly what that is and what it is worth should you want to sell it in favor of Jazzette appropriate snare.

I'm just not smart enough to give you anything concrete but some of these guys can nail it to the month it was built :).

Lovely kit Johnf. I used to have a roundbadge in 20,12,14 for the exact reason you want one, trouble was it didn't do it for me soundwise, I discovered I don't like cast hoops. So I bought a set of Radio Kings with a 20" kick, which I love.

Then one day I got the chance to buy a jazzette in gold sparkle, so I bought it and it is one of my favourite kits to gig, I would have it over a Gretsch any day, but it is a personal thing.

You have fallen on your feet with that kit, well done, enjoy it

Those are F'n cool!Cool1

I would not trade them for a RB Gretsch kit if I were in your position. Your's are WAY cooler, and anyone who is a serious Jazz drummer would have serious respect for that kit, and the rarity of it.

It makes me want to call Precision Drum Co. and get a quote on a kit in these exact sizes... I bet that bass drum is perfect!

Now, to the rest of the group. what would be the 'correct' snare for this kit? The 4X13 downbeat? I think that would be a perfect match personally... Find a natural one (good luck) and this would be a "Grail" kit...
