1968/69 Rogers R360 COS/1st model

Truly excellent drums. Fantastic deals to be had on these since mostly they sell in virtually unused perfect condition for about 50-60 dollars. Probably about time I get a couple, now that the word is out.

So true!... and the amazing part is the build quality as well as the quality of the chrome plating. It's all top shelf! It's not an R360... it's a Rogers SuperEight! Absolutely correct on the pricing too. I bought my 1st one for $60.00, and the one shown in this post/thread was $75.00, and worth every last penny.

What a cool snare drum Tommy! The D stamped Bantam strainer sure is interesting! The R stamped hoops very cool. Lots of nice features. Looks to be in top shape. Very very nice drum!

It is indeed a neat drum as it is one of the first R360's produced, and not easy to find in this build. Reasons for that are probably both, that not many were built/sold?, and then I'm thinking maybe it was a little too costly to push out as a 2nd line/entry level snare drum?, especially with all those actual Rogers parts on it. Still...

... even with the later DUPLEX lugs, slightly different strainer, hoops,... it's still an excellent playing/sounding snare drum with a COS shell. I have had both these drums for quite a while now. Every now and again someone brings up the Rogers/Yamaha R360's on the VDF, and that always inspires me to take the drum off the rack and play it... which is exactly what I did yesterday! If you ever see one in either of these builds, grab it. There are always price pretty low!, yet they deliver! Here are some pics of my other one with the DUPLEX lugs, etc. I may be able to get up a vid/sound file here. Let me see!

I absolutely love my Black Strata (12/13/16/20") R-360s; I call it the "older Japanese cousin" to my 9/72 Black Strata Londoner V! Only problem is someone before me swapped out the reso side lug casings with Yamaha one on the kick and some unknown MIJ on the toms. Whatever, works just fine, no extra holes....and yes, that 20" really thumps! I have an Aquarian SK I for a batter and no reso (since it ripped). So 70's rock!
