Gud` God Ya`ll cuquito717 !!! I`ve never in my life seen so many beautiful timbales all in one place at one time. That is an extrodinairy collection that you have there and i`m speechless to tell you the truth...How many years did it take of collecting these wonderful instruments to amass such a great collection? I`m abit stunned here as i thought you having two sets was really something.Absolutlely amazing what you have and many congrats on what i`d say is THE most incredible timbale collection in the entire world! Now...after i catch my breath here.Thank you so much for your advice and direction on my rims and if i can work up the courage i may have a go at the"Dip & Grip" but as you say the white electical tape is a safe and inexpensive solution. One last question as i don`t want to pester you but would it be ok to use white 2 1/2" wide duck tape and instead of winding the rim,go right around the rim in one direction? Thanks again for your much valued and trusted advice-what a collection WOW!!!Wayne
Lmao Wayne that collection took me approx 50 years to put together . Every place and country that i visited when I was working something came back with me. From trap sets to bongo , timbales ,congas you name it. The same with brands, there some drum that are not in photos that I have had from companies unknown in US. I found out all the stuff I had one I moved out of my mothers home to my own house. haha
The Dip AND GRIP is easy because as you dip and pull out it's dry, buy Yes the electric tape is a lot easier. Duct tape I do not recommend it to thick and will bother with the claws and will come off with heat. Use the electric tape it will be fine. Feel free to ask any question i here to help special know that I am retired with nothing to do haha.
