1966 Slingerland Rare Satin Flame Pearl Last viewed: 19 minutes ago

Up for sale is a vintage 1966 Slingerland drum kit in excellent condition with a rare finish, and ready to play! To the best of my knowledge this kit is all original as far as the hardware (hoops, lugs, legs, etc...), but it is not 100% complete. So let me just say straight away that if you are looking for that 100% original AND complete set as a collector, this kit will need some missing hardware found and replaced. If you are looking for a great vintage kit that is in excellent condition, sounds great, and is playable right now with out any tweaks or restoration, then this kit IS for you.

Sizes:

Kick - 20"

Snare - 14"

Rack Tom - 12"

Floor Tom - 14"

The color according to Slingerland catalog (and input from forums) is a pearl wrap called "Oyster Pink Pearl".

The tom are outfitted with Remo Pinstripes on top and a clear Ambassador resonant head.

The snare has a coated Remo Powerstroke 3 head and Ambassodor clear snare bottom.

The bass drum head is a clear Remo Powerstroke 3 and a Remo Fiberskyn 3 Resonant head for a nice clean vintage look.

The toms are mounted on Tama Starcast suspension mounts with Tama multi clamps holding a Tama ball and socket style swivel mount. please note that the muti-clamp and mounting system are included but the stands are NOT. I do have the original mount for the rack tom if you want to take the set up back to a stock configuration.

Here is a list of what is missing from the original kit, none of which affect the the play-ability of this kit, just the originality for those of you who may be looking at this more as a collector.

- one of the bass drum floor spikes (I am currently using the floor tom legs in it's place.

- one of the rubber feet on a floor tom leg

- the original kick mounted cymbal stand arm (mount is present, arm is missing)

- the snare rattles do not appear to be original.

- one of the winged screws that tighten the tom legs (which will only be an issue for those of you who want to go back to the stock configuration over the upgraded suspension mounts)

- the internal dampener tension nut (thumb screw) on the rack tom. (I just have a regular nut on there now so it is completely functional)

cool kit. FYI, it is a rare color but it's actually oyster pink pearl. Here's mine all the way over in New Zealand http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=36946

Love that colour...Thinking that the FT would be a later add on to the kit due to the lug variation..

Cheers
