So upon further inspection, all this thing really needs is a good dusting and Ill probably novus the wraps and give the hardware a good wipedown. The original batter heads on the snare, 13, and 16 are trashed, so ill replace them (keeping the originals of course) but the reso heads are in pristine condition so those are getting left on for sure! Sorry about the bad lighting...it was dark by the time I got home.

Ill clean em up tomorrow hopefully and get some pics up before the sun goes down! The only thing I could see replacing would be the spade for the consolette. Its pretty wobbley. One of those repro long spades would do the trick.

This also came with the correct strap drive pedal and flat base strap drive hi hat stand, a Beverly snare stand in really nice shape, and some garbage cymbals. If anyone reads this and needs a Beverly snare stand, PM me.

Thanks!

ver very nice so retro makes u think of rat pack era and back

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

On second thought, the batters aren't original. One of the tension rods on the 16 is a replacement, so it appears the batter heads must have been off at least once in order for that to happen and I don't see any Slingerland Sound King marks on the batters like there are on the reso heads and both BD heads.

All 4 shells are date stamped Jan of 1966 like in the pic below though...so thats pretty rad.

No badges on the 13 or 16 which fits in with the widely accepted timeline for that sort of thing. The snare and kick are 86xxx and 87xxx

Actually, Jan66 fits the timeline. Your innerds appear to be natural maple? Confirm?

PM Sent. Don't giggle at me.

Cleaned up the 13/16/snare tonight. They look awesome and sound even better. New G2 Coated batter heads make these drums sing. The bass drum won't need any head attention...it already sounds killer with the original heads and one felt strip on the batter side!

Now, THAT's a drumset! I hope that you scored the set with a good deal. It's a keeper.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
