1965 Ludwig snare? Need some info please. Last viewed: 10 hours ago

I have an old snare drum from when I was in middle school. I looked up serial number on Ludwig site and all I can find is its a 1965. Any information on the drum would be helpful and maybe a value. There are some chips in the paint but as far as I can tell no cracks on outside of shell. In one of the pics you can see something on the inside. Again any info would be helpful. Thanks.

i got your pics..that is a 65 ludwig snare like you mentioned. its in a blue silver duco finish. looks to have chrome hardware with baseball bat muffler. should be white felt on the muffler but i couldnt tell by the pics. has the original p83 strainer on it. i couldnt tell if the drum was a 6 lug or an 8 lug. its looks to be 8. if it is a 6 lugger, its a pioneer. if its an 8 lugger, its a jazz festival. thats a 3 ply white original resacote interior. probably a mahogany/poplar/maple shell.

value-150 range for the pioneer and 250-300 maybe on the jazz festival. just my roundabout ideas on that though. hope this helps...

glad to help. nice jazz festival that you have there! playing the top of the line in middle school back when. nothing wrong with that. i'd have to hang on to that one...
