Ok,

First see this thread for pics.

http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=28974

Then, see this auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=270948806686&nma=true&rt=nc&si=4bJ19ayX4ROymz89YHzla8MnldU%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_500wt_1287

No more need said I suppose.....except....ya, could use a shine, but there is NO RUST on this stand and she's got all her rubber, instead of shining it up and posting on the 'bay, I would rather offer it as is here for a discount to my buddies.....

Here's the deal.....gotta pay bills.....

Price is firm, as I am eating shipping and PP fees.

$200 free shipping....Paypal.

Sure many of you been seeing this coming....

BTW, coming soon - more Luddy, Slinger, and even Camco HW, with a bit of MIJ thrown in for good measure.

Is your stand nickel or chrome?

Thanks!

Good question. How do I find (figure it) out? It does LOOK more like nickel, but I don't want to be wrong about it. I have a friend of mine who has been dealing drums for about 40 years that I can take this to. Any thoughts?

if youve got some metal polish, try a bit on it. if its chrome, it won't turn the rag black like nickel will.

What I have is Turtle Wax's "Chrome Polisher and Rust Remover". Is that ok to use on it if it is nickel. Don't want to damage anything.

Ok folks,

I believe that this has been confirmed that this is Nickel plated, and not chrome.

I soaked the top half of the stand in Dawn/water for 12 hours, scrubbed with a toothbrush, dried, then dry buffed with pink rag that you will see in the video. The black on the rag got on there from a dry buff, not as dirt off the stand, as that was already removed from the brush and the drying. Also included is a side by side comparison of chrome mount verses this stand. Nickel indeed.

See this video:

Quite crude, made with a camera with actual tape in it (imagine that!) and still getting familiar with the capturing software. I actually taped over a different video showing more stand detail, but this will suffice to show that it is nickel.

Let me know of more questions/requests/ etc.

I have learned that people from certain foreign countries can not view the above video because of some copyright/licensing issues. Therefore, I removed the Beatles tune and posted another version of the video - this time SILENT.

So, if you are having any issues viewing the above video, try this one:

Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience.
