1958 Gretsch? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

I would like a general estimate of value for my 1958 Gretsch

“Name-Band Outfit” drum set as listed in the 1954 Gretsch catalog. The set is mother of pearl and includes snare, tom-tom, floor

tom, and bass drum. In addition I have 2 Gretsch timbale drums. The set includes Zildjian crash and high hat cymbals with Slingerland stands.

The drums are in good condition. From 1959 to 1962 I played with a

girls group called the “Coquettes”. We played throughout the U.S.

and Canada but primarily in Reno and Lake Tahoe. I later played

in Atlanta dance bands where I am a member of the Atlanta

Musician’s Union.

Where would be a good place to sell these drums? Would a dealer

take them on consignment?

Photographs would help. Gretsch drums from that era are very collectible and sell easily. You could sell them here in about five minutes probably!

From GeorgiaPeach

I have pictures but can't get them on site.

File size may be too large. If you have the pics on your computer can you right click on one and get a "re-size" option? If so, choose small or medium and try posting again.

Believe it or else!

If you want to sell, I`d start with $3,400 and hear all the noise. You have zero to add and it`s all there. Maybe spur caps but those drums are sought after. Yours appears to be collector grade.

Is it just the photo, or is that top tone control on the small tom bent? Should be an easy fix if it is.

That's a sweet kit.
