1950's WFL WMP 4 piece kit

Loading...

Sizes are 16x16, 9x13, 22x12 and 5 1/2x14. Any help on determining the value of this drum set would be incredible and much appreciated. The drums are a matching set, in VERY good condition, almost like new. No drilled holes, no patched holes, all original hardware. I'm thinking $1500 is a decent approximation. Thanks for any help! Oh, come on ya big sissies. Have a go at it blindly. I'm going with $238.53. That's without cymbals or stands. How'd I do?

I'll make a blind offer: $300. That's the best offer so far on this thread...

Thanks for the warm welcome and quick response! I'll work on providing pics...

I CAN say that the drums are in very good condition with minimal yellowing. Drum rail and cymbal mount are still attached to the bass drum. No rusting on the hardware. There are only 3 or 4 minor scratches on the whole kit. No tom rash. Bass drum hoop has no pedal or spur bite marks.

Until then, anyone have a price range in which we're looking at AND what constitutes higher or lower value?

Check Ebay for a list of completed auctions to get you in the ball park. As far as change in value, the closer they are to original, the more value. These are vintage drums, not your average generic Catalina Club as nowadays and the more stuff you have that is original, the higher you can ask for them. But as previously stated, pictures help.

That being said, the market is low now, so if you are buying, it's a good market.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Alright all you cynical old f*rts, here are the pics...

To all of the rest of those HELPFUL people out there, what do you guys think the value of a set like this is. I can't wait to start playing on it and eventually gigging with it but until then, it's my baby and ain't nobody gonna touch it!

Thanks VM2K! This is my first vintage kit but the start of a new addiction. I actually ended up paying $1350 for it. Jump For Joy
