1940's Rogers Tom and Bass Drum

Loading...

I picked up a few drums earlier and among them is what I believe to be a 1940's Rogers WMP tom and an unidentifiable bass drum shell. The bass drum shell had a WMP wrap at one point which is mostly removed. I suspect that the bass drum shell may also be a rogers of the same era. Is there any way to positively identify this as being a Rogers shell? It appears that it was a three ply drum with the outer layer being mostly stripped away when the wrap was removed but I am not sure. The bass drum hoops almost look like Gretsch round badge era but, again, I am not sure.

I'am sure your bass drum is a 1950's Gretsch why the lug pattern look's Gretsch and to me the biggest give away is were the badge used to me look's like a round badge gretsch hole to me....Mikey

That Rogers "R" lug tom was offered in the 1940 preview catalog and the 1941(early) then late 1940s(47-48) poster/mailer from Farmingdale NJ. Any interest in selling it? I have the 9x13 bro to it in the same yellowed wmp. I'll take it "as is" cracks and all. If interested email direct fltgrycleav@yahoo dot com.

Thanks, Gary
