1930's Leedy Broadway Standard

Hi, All

I just finished this restoration and thought I'd share some photos....This is an early 1930's Leedy Broadway Standard very heavy weight brass shell drum. This beautiful drum is in fantastic condition! The Speedway strainer has a small repair and the knob for the extension arm has been changed. These early version (1929-1936) Speedway strainers were rather cantankerous but this one works fine. Chrome plating was first used on drums in 1929 and the plating on these lugs is gone with some remnants showing on one lug. The cast aluminum lugs were buffed to a nice shine and will not tarnish. Everything works fine and this 85 year old drum sounds GREAT!

It has a rather nice sturdy look about it, especially for a very vintage metal drum. Does it sound more dry, but in a good way?
