Need help again. Guy a work with said he was getting rid of some junk in his garage. Right before he took these AWESOME LUDWIGS to the pawn shop I stopped by and now they are in my tender loving care! Can someone point me in the right direction as to what year these may be? The snare is a Pioneer Model. I also snapped a photo of the bass drum label, which has an electrical plug coming out of it and the lights in the bass drum actually work!. Everything is original to my friends knowledge and I have no reason or evidence that it isnt. I thought I would restore them but I dont think I trust myself enough not to screw these up. May just leave them as is. What would be a good guess on potential value? See pics please. Thanks. Oh, the pictures dont really show it but the Ludwig bass drum pedal is a sheep wool beater and the pedal is stamped with 7-15-24. I'll post more pics later if anyone is interested in seeing some more.
1920's-30's Ludwigs? Last viewed: 1 day ago
Here are a few more showing the pedal. It also had this old carry case that holds all the hardware and snare.
Hard to see the full badge from that angle. But take a look at these and see what fits best. But it looks more towards being from the 20's maybe early 30's.

Thats a 1920's Ludwig & Ludwig set with Pioneer snare also made by Ludwig
That low-boy is cool as hell. Do you have the clutch ? Are the cymbals Ludwig or K ?

Yes have clutch and Low boy works great! I'll check cymbals when I get home this afternoon.
That is so awesome!!!
I love stories like this... giving a new home to forgotten gear makes me happy.
Great score!

DON'T RESTORE !!..They look great and just need a good cleaning and maintenance to restore those babies to like new condition..I'm guessing a set like that would be in the $1500 and up range or maybe more, but i'm no expert..Just going on what i've seen sets like yours go for on ebay and other places.. Great set and cool that you snagged them up !
Amazing Score.. another potential museum piece... Lucky that you spotted them..
Cheers
