Default experts in 'really vintage' japanese drums?

hello everyone!
sometimes they look like Slingerland.

But not Slingy details.
Sakae sources?
I don't think Pearl and around

intersting details (metal bass drum hoops, tube lugs, so high rail consolette... )

I know nothing at all about antique vintage Japanese drums, but what an awesome thread to start. The kits in the photos look amazing.

Very interesting.

Pearl was founded in 1946, and I believe Hoshino was around 1965. The drums in pics 3 & 5 look familiar. Don't forget too, that after WW2 much of Japan was inundated with American culture and product. I'll do some more searching though and see if I can't locate any big name Japanese drum companies. For all I know, one of those could be an early Yamaha kit.

I just asked to some Japanese guys but they didn't know. Anyway yes, maybe Pearl was involved. but look how many differencies between the kits... do you have Japanese friends to ask for?

I do have a few friends who live in Japan and have been there for some time. And another friend is going over for a month. I'm very intrigued though.

If nothing else, this thread is really going to open me up to Japanese players who I've never been exposed to. Awesome!
