last colaiuta snare - gretsch die cast hoops

are the the gretsch die cast hoops mounted on the blu 14x5 Colaluita snare different?

watching ordinary die cast they look shorter on the top and longer on the low

if yes:

1) only on the snare or on orher his drums too? not the 12 diameter

2) was that a specifi for Vinnie or a kind of Gretsch option or standard?

hello friends, I made a home collage to give idea of my doubts on variety of die cast hoops on Gretsch modern drums.

there are

-3 colaiuta snares, where I see some differences between hoops, but that can be my fantasy.

-then a side by side old VC snare and new, an old renown snare with its kind of die cast hoops,

-3 modern drums the and the last (the tom) has the look like old Renown hoops,

-3 measures of "as we know hoops" and one on the lasst VC sanre that a friend sent me.

well, going deep:

1) what do you see?

2) what do you know?

3) what cuould you compare?

differente ages, different drums.
but you can meet two snares or two toms (and same diameteres) with the same curiosity.
on the left the latest drum.
do you see how higher is the top part of the oldest?

In my not so humble opinion, they are all Gretsch drums with die cast hoops. It doesn't matter if one hoop is a bit taller than the another one. Those hoops tend to make all Gretsch drums sound to me one step away from a wet cardboard box.

I just love to discover and talk about unusual or new things.
do you see different hoops? gretsch adopted both different and classical hoops in the last years?
that's the point?
