Hey, my name is Joe and I love to play and trade drums! I recently bought a 6-piece DW maple kit and though I've heard a lot about DW's, I've only now gotten to a place where I could afford one and know very little about them. This is a fusion/jazz size setup, with an 18" bass, 8", 10", 12", 14" toms, and 14" snare. The badge says maple. Inside, each shell has a natural note to tune to, and a date; sept 28, 2000. All drums also have reinforcement rings. This looks and sounds like a collectors series kit to me but I do not know for sure, as the badges do not say. Also, I'm not sure on the realistic value of these. I do intend to eventually sell, although I'm currently ordering a vent grommet, a couple tension rods and some heads. So this IS NOT A POST FOR SELLING THIS KIT. Just curious on it's exact identification details and value. I like posting here cause you guys are very knowledgeable! Thanks!

They are collector series, with all you have in the 1800.00 range, the market is flooded with them, the problem is always finding who wants the sizes and color. you'll see crazy prices listed for them but those never sale.

oh man, really? I was thinking (hoping) closer to $2,200. I saw a few 3 pieces, with just the 10", 14" and 18" bass go for $2000 on ebay, for just the 3. Maybe they had more going for them that I was unaware of...?

Or maybe that was the asking price and they never actually sold.

Yeah, the one's I'm referring to were on the completed listings on ebay. I thought I remembered a couple 3-pieces like that going for around $1700 as well. They were sparkle lacquer and stuff and maybe had a built in bass drum mount that made it a little different of a deal, or even a floor tom with legs. I'm still trying to be hopeful on this kiot. I still want to clean it up and sell it with 2 double tom mounts.

Does the "classic" series bring close to what the Collectors series does? I don't know if mine being 15 years old, helps or hurts it either.
