"I've got a problem"....yes, you do. Last viewed: 10 hours ago

Patient: "Doc, it hurts when I push right here."

Doctor: "So don't push right there".

I sat here and read the thread from "johnnyringo" and sat on my hands as I just didn't want to get involved yet again on this forum with this guy.

But then the thread gets deleted, imagine that, so I didn't have to sit on my hands any longer.....but I can't just let this go.

I spelled out my case, with pictures, right here on this site and it got deleted. When I inquired as to why that happened I was forced to believe that this forum is not here to air dirty laundry, to which I agree.

However, I brought up some valid points regarding this "seller of drums" and I felt my points should have been left out there for others to see, but not so as the whole thing just went away.

And now this guy, "johnnyringo" feels the need to cry that he thinks, "someone is saying bad things about me behind my back"?

I told Mr. Ringo that if he feels he wishes to continue in the direction he was heading as far as our transaction then I would have no choice but to state our transaction publicly as he was wrong and failed to amend that situation. I will not get into any of the details of his very poor business transaction but if any of you would wish to inquire, my email is gbender59@yahoo.com. I do also wish to state, quite emphatically, that 6 (SIX) forum members have contacted me about the very bad business transactions they have also had with this person who feels he is being wronged by having discussions about him that are not in a favorable direction, but not ONE of them has bothered to step forward to promote this cause. Let me also state that "word of mouth" is a very good thing, it certainly has been for me. as far as promoting your business....or at least it should be. Not so much though when those words are not good....sorry about that Mr. Ringo. I believe I told you way back when that the road you are choosing is not one that I would advise. You opted out.

A wise man would take his beating and travel forward. That, again, would be my advice. Don't push on that sore spot.

Well I bought a kit from johnnyringo and it showed up in a drum bag...in a box. Bass drum t rods bent, hardware loose inside bass drum and some lovely scratches inside the bass drum as a result of the tom dancing around during shipping.

For me that was a one and done deal. Plus I guess now that I have moved up and on to much nicer kits I understand what Gary goes through. I deal with stand up people and I count him as one.

I would love to hear from the 6 that contacted me about this guy...love to hear from them here on VDF. Stand up and be proud...I know who you are! And so do you. You guys act like the child who got beat by their drunk dad last night but kiss him and say "good morning" like nothing happened. Yes it did, and it will continue until you stop it.

Gary that isn't it at all. Here..

This message is intended for the entire VDF community, including John of course, although I would prefer to chat with him PRIVATELY. That said though, please take a moment and have a read:

The answer, truly... is in the 1st and 2nd paragraphs of my initial post, the one that starts this thread. I can summarize here though: Per David and my discussions, and remember, it IS in fact HIS website/forum! ... "we have no choice but to be less tolerant" ... PERIOD! So...

... whereas John feels he has been wrongly "edited", the fact of the matter is, we are not going to entertain ANY of those type posts anymore... PERIOD... and John, this includes attacks on you or your past, drug references, aliens, ALL of it. No one shall be immune here. David has had enough... as have I. What will happen is, I/we shall DELETE anything that we feel is a personal attack on another member, and that includes signatures and tag lines. Listen, this is a GREAT community we have here! Probably one of the BEST on the net!, but... there are going to be little skirmishes from time to time. Disagreements? FINE! As long as they DO NOT get personal! PERIOD! David and I enjoy this community, but you know what? He can pull the plug very quickly here. Neither he nor I want to do that. Not at all! But... ALL this stuff has to stop. So...

John: You feel you need to be heard on and by the VDF?, and it has nothing to do with Vintage Drums? I believe it was Mitch that suggested taking it OFF SITE by means of a hyper link. GREAT! Anyone that wants to read and/or comment on that stuff can do so OFF SITE. Also, I couldn't restore your post if I wanted to... neither can David. Once they are deleted, they are permanently deleted. It was well written John!, but you know what? Wouldn't have made any difference .. because .. reference the 2nd paragraph in my initial post: ... the guys that are your friends are going to be nodding their heads in agreement, and the guys that aren't your friends are going to be shaking theirs. You have your supporters!, and of course your detractors. I can't imagine that you are going to get anyone to change sides regardless of what you write, and the other members just don't care! Lastly...

We don't want anyone to leave of course, but!... these are now the NEW RULES. If anyone doesn't care for our "editorial stance", well you know what comes next. You are invited to leave. Again, we don't wish for that to happen!, but that's the way it's going to be now. Anyone that has been here for any amount of time knows that I am fair to a fault!... and that will continue. What won't continue is all these PERSONAL ATTACKS against other members. Hopefully this has answered/addressed some of this?! BEST to all!

Gary - there is a new policy about 'attacking' anyone on the forum, so in all likelihood this thread too will disappear at some point. It's a shame in this case because it's important to identify the 'bad actors' so the next guy down the line doesn't get burned. No matter how valid your complaint, it will be construed as an attack and this thread will disappear.

Don't go anywhere, Gary. The forum needs honest, decent guys like you to be a part of it. Methinks you're going to have to let this one go. Don't worry, people -are- paying attention and hopefully taking some notes for future reference. The only way we can avoid bad sellers is to tell each other about them. Post a seller review in the Seller Feedback section (Top of the page, 'General' forum.) That's where your review properly belongs. Don't take it personally if this thread disappears... but leave this guy some 'seller feedback' so others will know to avoid him.

Manny - you should do the same bro... just leave feedback so -the next guy- doesn't get screwed!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

it matters not Purdie Shuffle...those that do, do, those that don't don't. I knew of his reputation before I dealt with him, which is why I asked the questions that I asked. I just didn't expect blatant lies, which is what I received. This posting won't make it through the night I'm sure, but there are other forums that I have access to and those will be more effective anyway. This is obviously a "closed group".
