Intermediates have a mid-frequency hole.
Lows. Highs. Check. equals strong clear (isolated even) stick (the well-known 14th century Japanese emperor " Strong Clear SticK"....; ) wait Chang Kai sheck

Funny, I don’t hear any lack of mid range from that one! To me, it’s got a higher pitched fundamental (probably due to the profile) and a nice clicky stick, and tons of upper mids. Kind of Tony/Bill Stewart-ish.

When I think of icy, I think of crystal highs and punchy lows and no mids. A bit like a nice Paiste or like a dry and heavy 50s A Zildjian.

it's the cup of the Intermediates
Full shaped higher -almost A-like
compared with low wide flat of the old stamp or the low not-so-wide of the New stamp.

Add the flat -usually- relatively to other eras- profile; Mix in the lathe and lathe chatter -present in near every Intermediate- and you have highs and lows and a mid freq hole.
But that's ok . Gives them stick for days in the ride.

Personally- don't like- never liked (had 13s and 14s) - Intermediates for hi hat. Too high..
I gave Intermediates a good chance as hi hats just don't like them there in that spot..

Could this possibly be a Tony Williams clone cymbal? It's from the right trademark era, and it's weight is in the right neighborhood...

And it's already drilled for rivets too.

Sounds like a clanger. You see, that the problem with the type IV a and b is that they run hot or cold. And the bad ones really suck I'm sorry to say.

Anyway I have an nice example of what that cymbal should've sounded like, weighing at about 2900 grams.

That previously was a demo by the seller. This is a quick example of just the bare-assed naked cymbal being played alone:
