Here's some pics of the Ludwig Dealer binder I got when I worked at a local music store in the 1990's.
At that point we didn't even carry Ludwig anymore, but we had a drawer with tons of modular brackets, arms, and wrenches. I was in highschool and would clean up the shop for miscellaneous parts for my clubdate set. Eventually they hired me for the summer. $4.25 an hour! If the vintage drum guide would like this to post let me know.

Very nice. I have only seen two others and they were on Ebay. I let the first one slip away on the cheap. The second bid real high...didn't get it either. I don't think they had the contents like yours though.

That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing. One thing I noticed was that list prices on many of their kits decreased by ~$200 from '84 to '85.

It references catalogs as old as 1980. It even lists the "set up" brochure from 1981 too.

Looking at this years later it dawned on me that they had moved to NC around that time. Maybe price decreased due to less taxes in North Carolina vs. Illinois?

It shows what a wide selection of instruments Ludwig offered and that they made a huge investment in their catalogs. Sales must have been equally huge. That's a treasure and a great piece of drum history.

I'm sure their overhead & labor were cheaper in '85 and they were trying to compete with the imports. Hopefully, someone can get your book scanned and onto the vintage drum guide.
