I had seen one prior to this one, years back. I too was surprised at the sale price on this one.

My experience with eBay tells me they probably got an offer and sold it for less than that. Everything I've posted on eBay in the last year has been bombarded with offers up to 60% lower than the ask. I'd be shocked if the snare actually fetched over $500.

Seller had it on a regular auction initially. I saved it to see how it would do financially. The auction was cancelled. When I did a search I found the relisting with the buy it now.
