Default Rogers Swivo-matic Hi Hat Stand Question
Hi, I got a Rogers Swivo-matic Hi Hat Stand today and I'm hearing some grinding noises when I step on the pedal. The rod seems perfectly straight. I don't know what to attribute that noise to. I can only hear it when the pedal is about three quarters of the way down, then I hear that grinding sound.
Any ideas on how I might be able to fix that? I love the stand, but I can't live with that noise. Especially for recording.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would visually inspect all the screws and bolts on the pedal assembly for broken or cracked parts, but I suspect that the spring may be catching on something. It may be a simple fix with some lithium grease.

Thanks for the advice. I'm wondering if it's possible to take the spring out of the tube? Is there a way to go about disassembling the thing without a bunch of springs and washers popping out? I'm afraid I won't know how to put it back together.

Use your camera on your phone to document each disassembly step, then reverse the process. The pull rod is usually threaded at the bottom to a plunger that pushes down on the spring. The toe of the pedal is connected to the plunger (or another rod connected to the plunger from the opposite end). The plunger is what keeps the spring in place.

Cool, thanks. I'll give that a go. I just can't live with that squeak. Otherwise it's a cool stand. I'm liking it.
Cheers.
