Re: Circa 1969 Dixie "Rock" 3 piece.

Interesting find. Looks like a set that could have been new on the floor at a Daddy's Junky Music back in the day. Enjoy!

Re: Rogers sightings, mid-60s

One was a Rogers Headliner with the 14x14 FT option (more or less) in blue onyx. I have one in boxes somewhere in the barn and have had a couple similar over the years. Nice sets.

My...

Re: How have your drum sets evolved over the years?

They started at a snare drum, moved to a five-piece MIJ, then back to 4-piece Rogers sets, then all over the spectrum and then back to Rogers 4-piece sets. I guess you might say they evolved and...

Re: How I celebrated my 68th birthday!

Wow Mark, that is a bad case. I recall Bobby Chiasson menitioning that his wife had suffered tri-geminal neuragia and it was debilitating to some degree thought the details are no longer in my...

Maybe it's better to make the decision that letting the decision be made for you. Even so, if you still have opportunities, go for it.

Re: How I celebrated my 68th birthday!

Been there and done that. It is nasty and painful. In my case, it was a work induced stressor.

Hope you get better very soon Mark.

Re: How I celebrated my 68th birthday!

Hi Mark,

Those kind of moments are not at all pleasant. It sure is good you had an RN with you and even better that she's a girlfriend. Back in 2000 (age 50 or so) I had a episide where I was...

Re: Well I did it champagne for

The double disapperaing spur setup would have been quite an improvement to the traction, and then adding a spur on the front hoop you would have been locked in.

Sweet kit, and to get the matching...

As best I can see it in those photos of the 16x16, the part appear to be correct.

Re: Well I did it champagne for

Oh no! Not another '67 champagne sparkle Ludwig Downbeat setup with matching snare (he says enviously). As the famous men's shop used to say: You're going to love the way you sound!

Get us the...

Re: Rogers Holiday

PS - I cannot be sure, but the top hoop of the 8x12 may not be original. It looks different than the one on the bottom and the flare at the tension rod seat looks wide. Rogers hoops were made with a...

Re: Rogers Holiday

I think the price on the 3-piece Rogers is fair if the condition turns out to be very good or better. In part, that is because it includes the complete cymbal arm. That set was originally cataloged...

Re: Radio Back in the Day!

We had WMEX and then 50,000 watts of WBZ burning us from Boston in those days. Later on there was RKO then BCN. No lack of tunes from any of them. Arnie "Woo-Woo" Ginsburg and a whole host of others...

Re: 1965 Modern Solo Restoration Update

I tried doing glass glitter once. It’s a different animal from the other wraps. I had to abandoned it and have Precision complete the effort. Your project does look like fun though.

Re: My 1963 Shelly Manne Drum Set

My first two Rogers sets were 20,13,16. I eventually came back around to those sizes. Nice looking set you have there. That large patterned BDP is so nice.

I recall my folks watching Welk and me watching Klein on the Ludwigs in the days of my youth. I don't think I would have seen any of those shows after spring of '69 or so (mostly out on the road once...

Can't Get a Handle on This One

Some owner must have realized that the drum would creep away without spurs and decided to deal with it. Rare finish for Fullerton. Rare price for such a vessel at anytime.
