Re: Ludwig Dual Strainer Snare Drum Help?

Just a guess, but did Ludwig experiment with making a snare drum for the pipe band market? Premier is known for the internal wire snares under the batter head for the pipe bands. I don't know when...

Re: Snare Stand

I don't remember the product name or brand but I saw some of what appeared to be rubber arms designed for just such a purpose at Fork's Drum Shop. It may have been a Pearl product but I am not sure....

Re: Mystery Cymbal, help needed.

I did not know about the Enterprise model being a painted pang cymbal but I did know that the sides of the transporter on the TV show are Delmar wrap, one of the moires (sp?) finishes if I remember...

Re: Rogers Swivo BD Spring?

Getting old is no fun for pedal parts or people. I seem to remember some saying about the "spring in your step" (?)

Re: Best Head for Brushes?

I can second either of those choices. I have some Aquarian Modern Vintage (or American Vintage, I can't remember which) and they work great for both stick and brush response. Good luck and save...

Re: Vintage Hi-Hat Stands: Gretsch vs Slingerland vs Ludwig

That is a Walberg and Auge model and was made for several of the drum companies. It is a taller version of their original low boy. The majority of the W&A gear was built like Sherman tank and will...

Re: Vintage Hi-Hat Stands: Gretsch vs Slingerland vs Ludwig

All of these modern high hats are fine but you can't do better than high hat stands that had stood the test of time such as the Slingerland Duncan, Walberg and Auge, and whatever this last one is...

Re: Repairing cymbals before/after

The use of flux for welding is only a temporary requirement. In the not too distant future welders will all use flux capacitors powered by a Mr. Fusion. I assume they will have to accelerate their...

Re: Need help dating K Istanbul cymbals

You are quite welcome. It actually sounds good and is pretty versatile for drum set or as a suspended cymbal for band/orchestra (minus the rivets). Were factory rivet holes larger in the past? I...

Re: Account Suspended - Had Me Worried!!

Re: Ludwig P-82 Throw-Off Replacement

I built several drums this winter and used the Indie brand throw offs. Their hole spacing is adjustable so they work as a replacement strainer without drilling more holes. I like their adjustments....

Re: Need help dating K Istanbul cymbals

Jmoll, Thanks so much. I don't remember where or when I bought the ride cymbal, but I have had it since the late 1970's. I had switched from playing rock and country to "society" combo music and...
