Re: Price Check - Ludwig Stainless Steel

Ask yourself how much you could get for them if you had to sell them, and go from there. A search of sold SS kits on EBay should help.

I'll say this - if the shells are in round and you put...

Re: Premier Resonator BopKit, what's it worth?

Hard to say.

What does an E-Bay search of previous sales tell you?

Also, pix would help.

Re: Technical vs Musical Drumming

Why should there be a versus?

To me, the drum set is a musical instrument. That means we play to fit the musical context, and give the music what it needs, no more and no less. Some situations...

Re: Ludwig Stainless Steel kit, 22,12,13,16

Those are some great sounding drums. They can go to 11, or purr, as needed. They have cut, but warmth and darkness as well, if tuned properly.

Re: Canadian heading to Washington dc..drum to swaps..?

Look up Rich King - he's in Annapolis. You might also look up Keith Larsen in Baltimore at MD Drum.

Re: Thoughts on this Gretsch kit or did I do a dumb thing or not?

For the price, you stole it.

As for the holders. I had a kit with them on it. The tom mount receptaclesrequire a fist sized hole in the toms; that's not a resonance enhancer.

I sold those as...

Re: 80s Sonor Phonic 4 Jazz? Looking Today: Buy?

I would argue that there are no loud drums, just loud drummers.

I use a Ludwig Stainless steel kit, wide open, on a low volume burn gig, with coated and clear single ply heads. We've kept the...

I've seen many posts on Camco drums; here's a kit in the hands of a master, burning up the bandstand.

Re: Sell as a kit or separate?

I could be wrong, but I don't think the ages will make that much difference, as long as they're US made and not Dunnett's. Then there'd be a 40-year difference, and perhaps different materials...

Re: Vintage Tama superstar aqua marine

Those are not UV protected, so don't leave them in the sun.

I had a huge double headed kit of those for years; great sounding and gorgeous, they were.

Then I discovered Gretsch.....

Re: Hey Gretsch guys....

USA Custom is a fairly recent designation applied to those drums not made overseas, to their original specifications - die-cast rims, jasper or jasper type shell, etc.

Re: 80's Gretsch ice blue bop kit

They used to have a Blue Spruce lacquer, which not being UV protected, tended to go green over the years.

Blue Spruce was gorgeous before it turned, however.

Re: Looking for info and thoughts on drums I am looking at buying. 1970 ludwig vintag

I'd offer him $150.00 at most. How much do you think you could get if you had to sell it?
