Re: Ludwig Combo Student Snare 1980s ?

From the '80 catalog. Careful with the tension on those plastic lugs. They are impossible to find! Nice drum!!

Re: Whitehall Kick Leg

I've done the same thing that vyacheslav is talking about. They also have round aluminum stock as well. Seems like my Whitehall bass drum had legs closer to 5/16" diameter though.

Re: Please help me identify a Ludwig 6.5x14 Black Beauty

Great drum either way. Is the finish black or chrome? My eyes may be playing tricks on me.

Re: Pearl Tiger Eye Snare Tom

Why not just keep them instead of splitting up the nice original complete kit that you just bought? Especially since you mentioned that you might not be keeping the Whitehall kit?

Re: Speed King query

If you're on Facebook, find Vincent Ward. He has quite a bit of knowledge on Speed Kings.

Re: Obp price

Marty

The latest that I have seen nickel on Ludwig is '67. There seem to be quite a few 66 kits with nickel. I imagine that Ludwig realized that nickel was on a downturn and was pushing them out....

Re: For Sale: Ludwig Acrolite w' Imperial Lugs

Hey Larry. I appreciate the past purchases from you! I love finding drums and giving them proper tlc and sometimes setting them back to the wild. I slowed up on the restorations a couple of years...

Re: Help With Ludwig Pre Serial Supra

Tim

How about the bearing edges. Are they identical to your COB model where the edge ends...turning in towards the inside of the shell or not? Thanks..

Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread

That's a very neat wrap on those Kenwood. Don't recall seeing that badge before either.

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

That's about right on the price of the 26" Dave. I think they first showed up in the '49 WFL catalog at 82.50. Then again in the '53-'54 Leedy & Ludwig at 84.00. Great cymbal collection Dave.

Re: Cocktail Drum Outfits

I have yet to score a nice cocktail drum itself. I sure like them though. I do have this late 60's Star (pre Tama) Starfield Cocktail Outfit. It features a 16" bass drum and a bass mounted snare...

Re: Ludwig Standard Interior

Have you removed the inner strip to see if there as any damage that it may be covering?
