Question:

Are tension rods for 1950s WFL & 1930s-40s Slingerland interchangeable?

Re: Ludwig 1930's Rope Tension Drum ?

kdg is correct. Drum is from the 30s. Someone drilled the hoops and installed the rope & leather tugs. The tuning knob on the snare tensioner isn't original. Looks like chrome. 60s or 70s, most...

Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread

Got this a few days ago. I had never seen hoop clips on a MIJ drum. And the wrap is in good shape.

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

Finally found an extra thin larger Zilco Con.

18" Zilco Constantinople 1098 grams.
Flexible, explosive crash, super fast decay, trashy. Perfect.

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

Thanks guys. That's all the cymbals...at this time. We will see what 2021 brings.

Still hunting for the right 24" trans, 20" pre-trans, 20" trans swish (like the one I sold years ago).

I...

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

26" trans stamp type 4, 3630 grams.

There's not a lot of info out there on old cymbals this size. When I received this cymbal, it assumed it was thin, as it is the same weight as many 24" cymbals....

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

22" trans stamp type 1, 2241 grams.

The score of a life time. Simply unreal sound. Buttery crash. Opens up easily, very flexible, wobbles. Perfection.

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

20" trans stamp type 3, 1730 grams.

Spent the last eight years looking for one of these at an affordable price. Really dark patina.

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

19" trans stamp type 3 1501 grams.

Some rough stuff on the edge, but no cracks. Ridiculously thin. Explosive crash that seems to open up on its own. Possibly the best crash I've ever heard.
I'm...

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

18" US / pre-trans / second stamp swish, 1137 grams.

Found at the Chicago Drum Show in 2018. I ran into some Zildjian reps and showed it to them. They wanted to make me an offer right there so...

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

18" pre-trans / second stamp 1257 grams.

Found on ebay, as is, for super cheap. No surprise there. It would have weighed about 1349 grams before the repairs. Someone also took a power sander to it...

Re: Humble Collection of Old A, Italian, and misc.

20" Caravan Old J 1864 grams. 1960s.

This is a weird one. The first Old J I've seen that isn't made of brass. Might be B10 or B8. It's some kind of bronze alloy. I have heard of others being made...
