Re: Re-wrap Seams (Use glue or tape?)

I use 3M adhesive on rewraps and seam repairs. Put tape on both edges to keep adhesive off unwanted places. While taped, I then lay a bead of super glue on the finished seam. It has never failed.

Use a correct diameter nail to put a starter hole in the shell without going thru the shell. Cut the nail off to the depth you want and attach the badge.

Take the badge to any hardware store to...

Re: Ludwig Concert Tom Bottom Hoop Restoration

Check with local auto restoration shops. They can or know of someone who polishes aluminum trim on car restoration. They should be able to do the work or advise how to polish without scratching.

Re: Vintage Rogers Snare Drum

Have only seen Eagle badge on 50's shells. Lugs were flat top without the ridge. Different throw off.

Eagle badge on shells in 1957...

Re: Has anyone dealt with Purdie Shuffle?

Re: 1st time dealing with wrap seam separation-Dean could use help.

Take off the hardware along the seam and see if the wrap will be able to lay flat by clamping with some wood strips. Looks pretty puckered. Might be too brittle to lay flat.

$750 for rewrap should have some wiggle room. If done well, he could get his asking price - depends on if he is tight right now.

Re: Rogers Collett Mounts

These are the noses/collets. Left is the older / machined style. Right is the newer / cast style. Note the cracking in the cast style. They thread onto the mount plate base.
