I can only speak for myself, but I usually donít mind a good rewrap. Itís just that with this particular type of pattern itís weird, like looking at the ocean and see it repeating, like a glitch in...

Re: Out with the old...

I would go for option 1 with prices to sell, to raise the money quickly. If you want a 60’s Ludwig that is what you should get, as soon as possible. I went through some more ”revered” vintage drum...

WTB: Premier 18x12, Ludwig 18x12

Looking for an 18x12 Premier bass drum, 60ís or 70ís, wrap doesnít matter.

Also, a Ludwig 18x12, or 18x14 bass drum, 60ís, preferably WMP but any wrap/finish is interesting.

Let me know if you...

Re: Ginger Baker dead at age 80!

Gingers playing always put a smile on my face, what a swing he had, just incredible. RIP Ginger, one of the greats.

Re: Vintage Ludwig 3-ply, 12x18 Bop!

Thanks zenstat. Good to know it is obtainable at least, even if it rarely turns up. I bet your Jazzette sounds great!
Btw I always do my research _after_ buying...to be able to just close my eyes...

Re: Please help identify vintage Premier

The resolution of the photo is too low to be sure, but it looks to me like the lugs on the floor tom are the pointy type which means later than 1963, more like late 60’s. Hard to tell from the photo...

Re: Original Tone Controls -- Simply Style over Substance?

I use them on snare all the time, very seldom on toms.
I think they’re great to have for some purposes, and the issue of rattling can be fixed by putting soft materials in between the surfaces...

Re: Why Do Ludwig Drums Sound So Good

I was joking of course, no pitchfork here. I sort of agree with you, but would add that it really depends on the style of music which part of the kit is most important. You could just as well turn it...

Re: Ludwig Sound

I just did that, or rather, I bought what I always wanted - a mid 60ís WMP Ludwig downbeat with added 16Ē and 2x 13Ē. Then I sold my Camco, Premier, Rogers etc. I really only need the Ludwig, it has...

At the risk of echoing already mentioned crimes, some things just are worth repeating:

Re: Why do people dent your heads ?

Arenít you talking about two different things though? Regarding sticks, yes they produce different sounds depending on the mass and shape hitting the drum, but that is not the same factor as how much...
