Re: For Sale: Ludwig Acrolite w' Imperial Lugs

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I might add another serial number. My Blacro with Imperial Lugs is #6252753. Some small distance from the numbers Mike noted.

Re: Charlie Watts---Trixon drums??

Hard to figure. You can see all sorts of pics of British drummers on Trixon, bandmates playing through Orange amps etc, from European performances where the stage gear was provided.

But, Omaha,...

Re: ASBA Caroline Pedals

I have both a Capelle bd pedal and a Caroline. The Caroline is on my practice set in the basement. I love it, it feels like I've slipped on some moccasins when I play it. I really like its...

Re: Ringo or Pete Best ??

Pretty sure they built their version around Eddie Fountaine's original: Eddie Fontaine-Nothin' Shakin' (But The Leaves On The Trees)-1958 - YouTube

Re: Badge Cleaning

Best way is to take it off if you really want to clean it. It's pretty soft metal and easily scratched. Take it off and you can baby it back with a soaking in Dawn deterg and the usual soft...

Re: Wrap Fading 1964 Ludwig

Agree totally with Novus 1, 2. You won't get back to original, but you will get a nice and relatively shiny wrap.

Hand rub.

Re: 1961 Trixon Luxus

With the cymbal holder intact--don't see those often. Beautiful kit.

Re: John Grey Snare Throw

I went to a clock repair shop that had a lot of antique experience. They helped me out. Might be worth a try.

Re: Levon Helm Snare Drum question

Levon has so much to offer a learning drummer. Brilliant grooves, serves the song. He is a very rooted drummer. Enjoy!

Then there are the Band songs pianist Richard Manuel played on--also worth a...

Re: Vintage John Grey Bongos Edmondo Ros 1950's Rare

Re: Vintage John Grey Autocrat Snare Drum

I am a bit concerned about the downward dangle of the snare throw. Those throws have a "progressive" tension set up. I think they weren't really made to take the harder hitting that came along...

Re: These look at lot like Ringo's Premier's (I think)

I agree, most likely coincidence. I just thought with the 4" Royal Ace, it was more coincidence than not. Since tripped across a reference to the wrap on Ringo's snare running from upper left to...

These look at lot like Ringo's Premier's (I think)

The August edition of Uncut magazine had a picture of David Bowie performing at the Beckenham Free Festival (1969). It looks as though there are three kits on the stage. The one in the middle...
