Re: Downbeat vs clubdate

Awesome. Hope that you love them! Don't recall seeing too many Club Dates in that wrap.

Re: Marching Head on Regular Snare Drum?

I've got a couple of 60's Ludwig parade batter heads that I use on snares and floor toms. Sounds nice.

Re: Downbeat vs clubdate

I actually find the opposite in sounds. I much prefer the resonance in my Club Date kits vs. my Down Beat kits. Especially in the 14" floor toms as the CDs have 6 lug and the DBs have eight. Lets...

Re: Canister

I love canister thrones myself. I have one in Sky Blue Peal and White Marine Pearl that are 60's Ludwig. Ludwig continued to make canisters up until around 10 years ago I think. I special ordered one...

Re: Ludwig Dual Strainer Snare Drum Help?

The p83 that is shown is much older than the drum. Should have had the same bolt pattern though. Wonder what the extra hole was for at the bottom strainer?

Re: Transition badged Super Ludwig imposter?

I've had a few of these snare drums. At least a couple that I recall had the strainer in different positions.

Re: Ludwig Combo Student Snare 1980s ?

From the '80 catalog. Careful with the tension on those plastic lugs. They are impossible to find! Nice drum!!

Re: Whitehall Kick Leg

I've done the same thing that vyacheslav is talking about. They also have round aluminum stock as well. Seems like my Whitehall bass drum had legs closer to 5/16" diameter though.

Great drum either way. Is the finish black or chrome? My eyes may be playing tricks on me.

Re: Pearl Tiger Eye Snare Tom

Why not just keep them instead of splitting up the nice original complete kit that you just bought? Especially since you mentioned that you might not be keeping the Whitehall kit?
