Wanted: Leedy Marvel Strainer (1924-26?)

I might as well get this search off the ground for the New Year.

I've got a very nice condition 6x14 Leedy Multi-model missing the Marvel Strainer (Leedy's first attempt at a Parallel system)....

Re: I'll break the ice: Rob Cook's Rogers book

I'd like to add that Leedy seems to have come up with the "Floating head" moniker with their Multi-model drum line when they moved away from band hoops with claws. The point was to keep the flesh...

Re: Merry Christmas to the VDF

Season's greetings to everyone. Florida is going to be about 77 degrees everyday this week, so we're headed up to Georgia tomorrow for something milder.

Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

That's a beautiful set you have there, Dan! As far as the hue of color on my set, it could be the quality of lighting on the stage (they use a combination of regular and LED stage lights). I figured...

Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

Thanks Dan,
"They can put a man on the moon", but for some reason they can't seem to duplicate 60's Blue Glass Glitter!

I was told when I bought these drums in South Florida that they had been...

Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

Finally brought in my Cleveland Rogers Blue glass Glitter for a pops holiday concert series.

Re: Ringo's cymbals in new Get Back documentary

Very cool and interesting Marty.

Mal's life had a very sad ending in LA just a few years later. It looks like either a huge mistake or "suicide by cop".

Re: Ringo's cymbals in new Get Back documentary

So, if the drums have "Drum City" stickers on them with what looks like blue label maker rotary tape below it, wouldn't that suggest a rental kit? They are clearly visible on the mounted toms.

Re-assembling a Camco #800 Hi hat -Help!

I've lost the pictures that I took this past Summer of the disassembly of this old 60's Camco Hi Hat. I can't remember where the fibre hose piece is supposed to go. The hose definitely won't fit in...

Yes, and to me the ink looked red-ish, if that means anything.

Re: Removing Dents from COB Snare Drum Shell

I know that some 'press" out the dings with large C-claps and wood blocks.

Re: What were the most innovative designs from each vintage company?

I'll put my vote in for Ludwig & Ludwig's "Super-Ludwig" parallel snare system starting in 1924.
The "Camco" chain-drive BD pedal began as a upgrade done in drum shops. After the break-up of Camco,...

Re: Ludwig 1930's Rope Tension Drum ?

Did you mean "WWII" ?
The badge is from the 1930's.
I don't know how it would be possible to be from the 1914-1918 era.

Roy Burns was attached to the "Starlighter IV", not the "Londoner" as the seller has it listed.
The "Londoner V" was attached to Steve Ettelson.

Re: This is the Display Your Leedy Drums Thread

I just picked up a NOB 6x14 Leedy "Multi-Model" made for the very rare Marvel strainer (1924-26?).
Unfortunately, the snares and bridge are missing since about the 50's, I'm told. Because of the way...

Re: Any Info on these Duplex Snare wires?

Great! I am familiar with the Duplex name, but that is about it. I wasn't sure if Leedy made their own snares wires or not.
