Re: Welcome back...What happened?

… already done, plus much more! This was a MAJOR issue, and all on the server company’s end. We had to go BEYOND them to get this straightened out .. but .. as I am now typing this, that is a GREAT...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

… and THIS, is even nicer! What a beauty!, and the lug swap was killer. Put the drum right over the top. Had I seen that for sale, I would have grabbed it! The Fibes/Corder SFT throw and butt on that...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

That is VERY cool Mark! I will tell you .. after actually seeing the throw/butt .. Cannon used the Corder SFT throw/butt. Very similar to the original Fibes, with the main departure being the throw...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

pgm554!
Did you change out the SFT system? .. or .. did you acquire the drum as shown? Just curious! I think the SFT throw/butt is what makes that drum very cool/unusual as it was offered back when....

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

Mark!
This is a bit of revelation then! Very interesting!, as it more than suggests that the drum Arthur Press is playing in the actual Fibes ad, is NOT a Fibes made/model at all! All it has that is...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

Ya … those don’t appear to be the Fibes diamond shaped lug, which was their standard manufacture. Unless I’m missing something in that pic? Those almost look like Pearl lugs .. kind of .. to me. 🤔...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

Yeah .. unfortunately .. we have ALL been there to some degree on a purchase. Still ... I'd say an easy 6 incher! ... meaning ... looks KILLER from 6" and back. No one would even really see the micro...

Re: Fibes Crystalite snare hoop questions.

Forgot all about Arthur Press! .. and .. non standard Fibes lugs. Those would stick out immediately if you saw them. Still haven’t ever seen one “in the flesh” personally. Don’t know that I ever...

4MoreYearsOhNo!

This is all you will probably find/see regarding the Fibes Concert/Orchestral snare drum WITH the Spiraltone snares/wires. As mentioned, in all my years of buying, selling, and...

THANKS for the reply on the FiVel set! No worries on remembering ... I know how that can go too!, and especially so going back to 2013. Those were indeed beauties though!

Re: Fibes Crystalie snare hoop questions.

pgm554/leedybdp

The more I thought about it, I remembered that I bought a then NEW Fibes SFT690/COF back in 1973! I knew I had pics of this drum .. and .. here you go! That bottom hoop design was...

Re: Fibes Crystalie snare hoop questions.

I did indeed! … and I was taken more by the Blue FiVels than those HUGE Zildjian Ride cymbals too of course! 😎 I have always liked the FiVel series, although they weren’t a very good seller for Fibes...

Re: Fibes Crystalie snare hoop questions.

Pgm554 …
… I’ve been playing Fibes since 1973 .. and still do! .. and in that time have had 6 snare drums, one of which was a 1973 Crystalite. I currently have three, two COF, and one in Black...

Re: Canadian "Milestone drums" fiberglass

Bryan!
The bass drum I added was a 14X22! So the 22” became my main drum on the right, and of course the 20” on the left. It worked out really well, and the 20” sounded really good with the 22”. For...

Re: Canadian "Milestone drums" fiberglass

I saw your posts/pics on the spurs debacle after you picked up that Fibes 14X20 clear Crystalite bass drum. I’d swap out those Ludwig’s too! Just an awful installation by the 1st owner. You...

Re: Canadian "Milestone drums" fiberglass

Bryan!
I don't believe there is any connection between Milestone drums and Fibes, and I base that on the history of Milestone and just how they were making their fiberglass drums at the time. As...
