Re: Welcome back...What happened?

It would be good to check why some could get in (and post) and some not.

Re: Yamaha Blue Willow Finish

If it is in good condition with a snare, its an ok price.

800-1000 would be slightly more ok to me.

Re: Dutch Vintage Drum Meeting 2021

It was big fun.

You’d be suprised how the love of vintage is quite big outside the US for decades.

Not only in Europe, but also in Asia vintage is a real way of living almost.

Try this one: U0241340

It is a brass wire set made for the extended strainer system, and can be found under the concert snare parts list.

Re: experts in 'really vintage' japanese drums?

Me neither. This was truly the first time I saw the head too. Although I did see the kits and snare with the script logo.

Our HQ in Europe here has a kit that partly has the script badges.

Re: experts in 'really vintage' japanese drums?

The search continues, but on a side note.

One of my buddies (he was the head of marketing world wide for the Yamaha Drums devision) did just send the first ever made catalog from 1967.

This...

Re: experts in 'really vintage' japanese drums?

Yamaha Drums (and its history) was my work for quote some time.

I asked my old collegues at Yamaha in Japan for a picture. Lets hope they still have something 😬

And why did they merged? Most...

Re: experts in 'really vintage' japanese drums?

Yamaha had drums before 1967 under their own name. I just couldn't find the picture anymore. It was on a Japanese FB page from someone.

And it had almost square lugs, totally different than what...

Re: experts in 'really vintage' japanese drums?

I also know that Yamaha had kits that looked like these before they partnered with Sakae in 1967.

There were a few pictures on FB once too, but I can't find them anymore.

Re: Sakae 'Rhythm King' snare drum

Yeah. But it was needed and much welcome.

What I always missed about the older RC's (and the reason why I had multiple over the years all to be sold again) the feel of the kick at the player's...

Re: Sakae 'Rhythm King' snare drum

The PHX is made by Yamaha’s own craftsmen in Osaka.

I had the luck to have them on a loan base for about two years and I loved them. But indeed priced high.

Re: Sakae 'Rhythm King' snare drum

To add. There is no quality difference (the quality control gto even better and tighter with the move) and the PHX line is still being made in Japan by hand. So nothing to be sad about and try those...

Re: Old DW pedal

That looks like an 80’s entry/basic model pedal (made intaiwan?) could be a prototype too.

These are from right after the Camco purchase.

Re: Help ID Yamaha kit

Those are DP’s indeed. The hoops are the give away.

Good entry drums. Buy some 700 series hardware and its all set.

The DP came before the Rydeen.

Re: Yamaha Vintage Drum - Identification

Tht is a beautiful C20 or C22 depending on the kick size. Probably late 60s or early 70s, when I look at the floortom legs and bd mount.

Re: What's with the insane asking prices on Reverb?

The downside with that route is that you also find older listings that haven't sold (but ended or have been deleted by the staff because of a pressing reason)

Besides that its dedicated to musical...
