Re: Ludwig Black Panther

Wow, anyone discovering that would tend to go nuts. Seems the tricky part would be getting the glue off the mod without damaging it, but quite a reward if you got it done.

Re: A Record for Extra Holes

I think that might be a fabulously fat flute.

Re: A Record for Extra Holes

Maybe the shell is free and the $350 is $60 a piece for the lugs?

There were other solutions, but it's too late now.

A Record for Extra Holes

This brings an old moto to mind:

"If at once you don't succeed, try, try again."

What do you think: If you assemble it and did a side-by-side test with a correctly drilled unit, would you hear...

Re: This is the Display Your George Way Drums Thread

Smokin' cool set. What a find. Congrats! And Swivo equipped to boot. I saved both of those images. Love the tunnel one.

Re: new book on Italian vintage drums, Hollywood and Hipercussion

Tricky to get interest is such a limited-interest subject. Does anyone know who published Rob Cook's books on various American manufacturers? Did he self-publish under the name Rebeats?

One group...

How to Play Red Hot

The translation for this nice Trixon kit on Reverb is interesting as it gives the impression these drums will produce a red hot result. Given what the Beatles were getting done in Hamburg in that...

Re: Rogers wood snare shell

Have you considered adding in a new Dynasonic? The wrap looks like they have gotten back to the real thing and would probably match your set very nicely for about $800. In fact, you might even be...

Re: How one tiny screw can ruin your whole day.

I can hear myself having an outburst over that situation. Nothing unusual about that. The neighbors will gladly share your frustration without even knowing what it's about.

Re: WMP Rogers Fullerton double bass

That WMP has really stayed White. Looks great. I love the floor tom leg for the cymbal rod on the right-hand-side bass drum. Also in keeping with what seems to be the modern setup with 12 and 16...

Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread

Fess up Kenwood, do you have as much in all those kits as it would cost to get just that one Ringo kit in the other thread?

That second picture is just fantastic! I'm going to print it out and...

Re: OBP Downbeat on eBay

Great responses guys. If I win a lottery tomorrow for, say, $5m (2.5 after taxes), I might buy that kit and the guitar and the bow. But then again, maybe not. I've got a LaBoz now, so temptations of...

Re: OBP Downbeat on eBay

Ah, but that has lasted almost as long as the nation (US) and probably will outlast it the way things are going lately.

Re: Vistalite Marcher

I suppose for some, only a vintage BDP marcher will do the trick. :)

Re: Vistalite Marcher

Based on the blue/olive badge, it was not used to play the marching version of the Rubber Soul song, "I'm Looking Through You".

Cool drum even so. Well worth $350 in my view.

OBP Downbeat on eBay

I was thinking about making an offer until I realized it wasn't Swivomatic equipped. At $27k, I think it has to be authentic :)

Re: Rogers Collett Mounts

One reason this might be the case is someone using a different size hex rod over a period of time. Like using a very similar Pearl arm instead of a Rogers arm, the Pearl maybe being a slightly larger...

Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread

That is one nice guy!

I'm thinking you may have the largest collection of MIJ drums in the world, or at least the largest collection in one warehouse. He was probably totally amazed when he saw...

Re: Rogers Collett Mounts

Based on the fact that you have a mix of machined and cast collet assembly noses, I think it may be worth noting that Rogers did vary the overall "assembly" somewhat from the early bread and butter...

Nice looking kit. I thought the LaBoz badge was enormous, but those Crown badges cannot be missed!
