In fact, one day the guy doing the work said he wasn't going to show up because of the high winds! Fortunately, I had removed the drums. It's back down on a new foundation now and I'll put the drums...

The ultrasonic device sounds great on a labor/time saving basis. I have never used one, but I hear they are great using walnut shells as a medium.

See pic of the inner wrappings.
Lambs wool came from Joan fabrics.
Baseball came from ?
I think I stitched with dental floss.

Center to Center spacing for a Rogers beavertail snare lug is 1 7/8". Hope it fits. If close, but too tight, use a round file to open the holes up.

Have you figured out the thread size of the rods? Replacing with standard type square head rods would be nice. DFD has some MIJ rods. Good Luck Sir.

I had one like the one in your picture. Tried to fit a modern, regular (cylindrical) floor tom with metal rims in there and it was not a good fit, at all for me. Not stable.
I think those cradles...
