Re: Premier Aqua Sparkle Drums

Re: Premier Aqua Sparkle Drums

Ya, the the gold sparkle kit I owned had one of those, it worked pretty good, but where it was mounted on the kick made it impossible to get it placed in a comfortable position.

Re: Premier Aqua Sparkle Drums

I'm not worried about it, the only one that needs to be changed is the rack tom and it doesn't sound bad.
Here's a few more pictures with a Slingerland chrome over steel snare I just bought.

Re: Premier Aqua Sparkle Drums

Ya, Remo does make heads that will fit vintage Premier drums, but just for the rack tom it will cost about $30 with shipping and a few weeks to deliver.

Unfortunately, there's no date stamped, but I believe it's from the late 40's to early 50's.

Re: Ludwig Club Date

I actually sold my Premier gold sparkle kit and thought maybe I'd jump on the Ludwig, but you guys are right, it would be too pricey and difficult to find a matching floor. I saw this other Premier...

Re: Ludwig Club Date

Nevermind, I just saw 14x14 Club Date floor toms selling for over $500 and they weren't even wmp. It would probably take a long time to find a wmp floor for a decent price.

Re: My Kit is Complete

I understand how it works, maybe what I should had said was, I have everything I need for now. I used to play a 4pc kit with only two cymbals and hats. I'm a minimalist, I don't like a lot of gear....

Re: My Kit is Complete

Ha, it's actually an apartment, luckily there is only one neighbor that's above me, none on the sides and since they are pretty noisy, I don't feel bad about disturbing them. I usually only play in...

My Kit is Complete

Well, after selling most of my gear almost a year ago, I've finally little by little put together a pretty decent set up. I just bought a 50's Zildian 17" crash cymbal that sounds fantastic. The kit...

Re: Premier Tom Mounting Bracket

I don't think it changes the sound that much, I've had the rims system on other kits, I just don't like them. The tom brackets on this Premier kit are attached with just three screws, there's no hole...

Re: Premier Tom Mounting Bracket

I understand that it's not a good idea to drill extra holes, but there are already extra holes on the kick due to the modern kick legs. I don't really like the rims system, especially on vintage...

Premier Tom Mounting Bracket

I got this crazy idea on how to get the tom at a good placement on my Premier kit using the original tom arm and mounting bracket. I'm thinking since the kick already has extra holes due to the...

Re: Downbeat

What's so special or rare about a Downbeat? I've had several.
There's one on San Antonio cl in a wmp finish, but it's missing the 14x14 floor, it does however have a Pioneer snare. Here's one I use...
