Re: Damaged Bearing Edge--Re-cutting Vintage Ludwigs

My sentiments exactly! Get those edges re-cut by PDC, who will do an excellent job, and make your vintage drums sing!

Re: Will This MIJ Price Madness Ever End

OMG!! Yes, asking prices, especially by the ill-informed, for these sets are getting way out of control! There is another seller listing quite a few MIJ snare drums, each for $250. While they are all...

Re: Ludwig Keystone Club Date Floor Tom Leg Brackets-What Parts Do I Need?

V! Yes, they are definitely for a a 3/8" leg. I tried a Slingerland straight 3/8 leg and it's perfect. As I mentioned earlier, you should be able to drill a hole above/below the "Ludwig" logo to...

Re: Ludwig Keystone Club Date Floor Tom Leg Brackets-What Parts Do I Need?

Hi V!

I realize that the last thing you want to do is drill through the original mounts! However, if you decide that this is your best option, I have three older Ludwig-style eyebolts, complete...

Re: Pearl Spin Tight Tension Rods with Acrolite/Black Beauty

I think it's an interesting idea. I would imagine you just use these at the points where you're really pounding the snare drum? But, for the price... $75.60 for 4 rods and the special key at...

Re: Dating Rogers

Not counting the paper-tag Dynasonics, I believe the first serial number on the badge was 1001, but don't quote me on that! I need to look in my Rogers Book and check it out.

Re: Ludwig Acrolite drum set and Slingerland copied them

Not to derail this post, but just to add to what thin shell says about the triple-flange hoops. While it's true that Slingerland bent their hoop inward at the top flange, also keep in mind that...

Re: Rogers Drums

$800 is definitely a bargain for this Covington-built set! The addition of the Knobby would not deter me at all!

Re: Someone Needs To Write The Definitive Book on 60's MIJ Drums

David! After all these years, I'm embarrassed to say that I've not seen that article! It will help many to understand about why there are dozens, if not hundreds, of different names associated with...

Ok, I've been checking out the new site for some time and getting used to it! For us old-timers, change can be difficult! We just need to keep in mind that technology is always moving forward and we...

Re: Help Identify Ludwig Super Sensitive?

$10?!! Definitely a good deal! For that small amount of cash, you got a drum that I would certainly display and enjoy. My drum did not have that extra snare mechanism under the head. That's got to be...

Re: Help Identify Ludwig Super Sensitive?

Hello spenlars!

The drum in question is a Super Sensitive knockoff...and a poor one at that! I had this same drum. The snare mechanism, in all honesty, is a joke and don't expect it to work...

Re: What are the tonal differences between Ludwig & Rogers?

Yes, it's a wood-shell Dynasonic! I wonder if it comes with the kit, though. If it does, then that's the set to buy!

First, Welcome to our forum! Next, the above two responses are right on! I've owned both Ludwig and Rogers sets from both periods and have loved them all. I will say that Rogers drums from the 60's...
