Re: Ludwig Standard Granitone Questions

Re: Ludwig Standard Granitone Questions

Re: The 14x14 Remains Highly Sought

As someone who has an original 14x14 in Oyster Black I say more power to him if he can get that sort of money. I think I paid $500 for mine about 18 years ago. Most I've paid for a 14x14 was nearly...

Re: Chicago Drum Show 2021

Assuming things don't flare up again I'm planning to go. It's only about 90 minutes from where I live so I can decide yea or nay right up to the morning of the show.

Getting my shot the day after...

Re: Need help Id'ing this Throw-off on my Gretsch

The one you think is correct ( you're probably right) is called the Renown throw off.

Neither, It's the new version Ludwig currently uses.

I can say no more.

Jammin Sam's would be the better option between the two you mentioned and I initially tried to buy from him but it...

Re: Blast From The Past: Contemporary Drummer 4-1-1981

Oh yeah, it's a fairly accurate, though exaggerated, glimpse at the attitudes towards older drums in the era before collecting vintage drums became a thing. People did do these sorts of things...a...

Re: Re 70's Ludwig Supraphonic w/silver badge

You're probably right Bun. I do like to ponder these things too much. Doesn't seem to effect the value one way or the other. Which is the most important thing.

Re: Oyster Blue

Re: Re 70's Ludwig Supraphonic w/silver badge

I've always assumed that the silver badges were the result of an error on the part of the supplier. What confuses me is the three digit hand engraved numbers. Why did they bother doing that when they...

Re: Request info on White Marine Pearl yellowing

The buttery yellow pearl looks very nice. The down side is when you need or want to add on a drum because finding one that matches becomes very problematic.

I have a WMP club date set with a...

Re: Request info on White Marine Pearl yellowing

It's generally assumed to be UV light that causes yellowing. That would mean sunlight but also some types of artificial light. Nicotine can also play a part although it should clean off.

Having...
