Re: Uneven lug spacing on Slingerland snare

You got a picture of the badge/grommet? That may give you an indication if it is a repro shell or not.

Re: Slingerland Concert King

I have '58 to '65 on the snares. The Chips seem to get larger with date.

Re: Slingerland snare drum on eBay!

I have seen a very few solid shell snares with date stamps, always very early '59. The font has been the same on them all, so unlikely someone has stamped their own.

Re: White Ludwig Vistalite drum value

I used to have every pattern vistalite, plus a tivoli. My vertical stripe kit was a pro beat, looked great, but those shells were pretty compromised, being akin to barrels, didn't do anything for the...

Re: White Ludwig Vistalite drum value

White vistalite drums were difficult to sell back in the day. So much so the factory chrome wrapped some kits, you find chrome on vistalite out there. Personally I would say they are the least...

Slingerland Bass Drum Rods

Hi,
I'm away at the moment so can't check. Could someone tell me the rod length on a 22" x 14" Early 60's Gene Krupa deluxe bass drum please? Or are there variables.

Re: Price shaming

An old drum is worth what someone is willing to pay at the time, and many factors can influence this, rarity, nostalgia, sound etc. An owner should be able to ask what he sees fit. Josh hit the nail...

Re: North East Legion Slingerland Snare

Thanks :) Being in Scotland I did not know what the Legion was. It's nice to catch up, and learn a bit of history.

Re: North East Legion Slingerland Snare

It's a keeper. I have most of the usual snares in Capri, it will join them.

Re: North East Legion Slingerland Snare

Some of the interior. Been damp at some point in its life I think. It should still clean up nicely.

Re: North East Legion Slingerland Snare

The drum is in good shape, stick savers top and bottom, not splits, but is needing a good clean, bottom head is seized in the hoop! Pics from starting the clean up. Odd that it has two date stamps,...

Re: North East Legion Slingerland Snare

Sorry my mistake, it does indeed say North East. I was just curious as to what and where it was. No real significance in the pencil writing, but...... the drum is in Capri Pearl :)

Re: Capri Pear Oddities

Capri was used by a few. Slingerland and Leedy obviously, Kent, and Carlton also possibly others. I've seen at least 3 Slingerland cocktail drums, but one was pretty beat up. So as I requested,...

Re: Vistalite pricing hierarchy?

I don't think you will see a vertical band kit at all with concert toms, the pattern wasn't the most stable. I used to have a black/blue vertical kit,but double headed.
