Re: 1967-68 Slingerland Student Drum Outfit, A Rare Find!

No, I bought it three weeks ago from the original owner in PA, who had it packed away for over fifty years.

WTB: 60's Star Rack Tom Arm

I need a 60's Star rack tom arm like the one on this kit. It has the tongue that fits into the tom's diamond plate.

If you have one, hit me up ASAP. Thanks.

Re: Drum Brand Preferences

Howie, we all know of your dislike of Ludwig drums. Different strokes for different folks. You know I'm a DW guy. I couldn't care less if they were/are trendy or not. I love the way they sound and...

Re: Slingerland Endorser Drums

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you want to know the value of your Barrett Deems set? I think you should ask Steve Maxwell, in all honesty. Barrett Deems' name only means something to drummers,...

Re: Drum Mate Peacock Set Today

Yes, a ten lugger. These drums are far better quality than the usual thin luan shell MIJ stuff I have had previously. I believe they are maple shells. They are very heavy, sturdily-built drums, much...

Glue or Reattach Inlay Strips?

What is the best way to reattach or reglue inlay strips on an old Slingerland bass drum hoop?

I scored a late 60's Green Sparkle Slingerland kit and need to get this job done.

Re: Pricing - Slingerland 1968 Double Set-O-Matic

I will still send a very carefully worded email to a guy like this on occasion, but sometimes it generates a negative response. You're right; anyone who is interested in buying this piece of hardware...

Re: Drum Mate Peacock Set Today

Here's a photo of my Drum Mate Peacock Pearl set on the gig today, a July 4th pool party in Branchburg, NJ.

The toms sounded fine, but I don't have the bass drum dialed in yet. I have an Evans...

Re: Slingerland Green Sparkle: Thoughts?

The seller and I made a deal and I'm picking them up next week. I got them for just a bit more than the price I was willing to pay. We haggled and met in the middle.

When I was getting ready to...

OK, thanks. I appreciate the responses. The seller and I made a deal and I'm picking them up Thursday. He came down on the price, and I don't mind paying it, because it's a rare wrap. I agreed to pay...

Re: Drum Mate Kits

I have a line on a Drum Mate set in a rare finish that's in very nice shape all around, but the seller is asking $600 for it. I offered less and am waiting on his reply.

Both are in original and immaculate condition.

What could I...
