If if I say you want to go with modern finishes
Try
pre cat waterborne gloss
at stores or 2k from Ici jc Licht
The wet sand to 5000 and they buff very nice

Id say try to keep a 4 count going
and if u mess up rest 1 count , and come back in ,
meter at a low volume and you will do well . Watch for the bridge, let them play it , just ride the ride ,...

Original heads if not dented , are great to play, the extrusion process back then was different than some manufacturers today , as they stretch on the sides so it’s harder to seat and tune new heads...
