Of course price is not an indicator of whether a used cymbal sounds good or not. But if it were, I wouldn't expect much for $75.

Clearly what you say is true. Heavy metal is very rough on cymbals and heads, but technique does come into the mix. For those types of musical situations finer cymbals might not be appropriate anyway...
