Update on Not So Modern Drummer Last viewed: 23 hours ago

NotSoModernDrummer.com is back online. Our website was down for quite a while after suffering a major hacker attack this Spring. I hired a new webmaster/designer, drummer Bill Ray of San Diego, to build a new site that is more user friendly and hacker unfriendly :-). I know a lot of you from this forum frequented the site regularly and I figured this was a good place to reach those folks. We are beta testing it now and could use some folks to visit and click on things to see if they work right! It's not finished by any stretch of the imagination but the main stuff is up there.

Other NSMD news:

There was no Spring Issue but the summer issue is just about finished and will be sent out soon. What happened? In a six month period starting last November I was waylaid by an unexpected divorce, the closing of my drum shop (which was more painful than the divorce), moving to Nashville (in the snow), recording a Poco album and playing Poco gigs, two long bad bouts of illness (one of which caused me to miss the Chicago Drum Show), the website hack, a robbery at my new house in Nashville, and the loss of almost the whole staff for the magazine. I managed to put out the last issue #16.4 in February before dismantling the shop and packing all my personal stuff and the magazine assets. I moved in March but by April it was clear that I was not going to be able to put the Spring Issue out on time. This has happened before w NSMD when John Aldridge owned it and when Bill Ludwig III owned it and I vowed I would never let it happen. It was embarrassing for me, the driven multi-tasking workaholic.

Anyway the good news is that all that s*** is over, I'm happy here in Nashville, I have a new staff and life is good once again. The black cloud over my head finally went away. I am tackling the damage to the data bases now. Subscriber and back issue customer problems are being addressed. Communications are back up to speed. My email doesn't have 2500 unread messages anymore and my voice mail is not full anymore, so if you need me to address an issue w the magazine please contact me. George,

Great to hear that things are improving for you. I am sure most on this forum are pleased you are back. I, for one, am thrilled to have you as a neighbor at the warehouse. Keep up the great work!

Good news, George. Please let us know how we can subscribe to NSMD in its current incarnation,

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
