Slingerland....help?! Last viewed: 23 hours ago

HI everyone..I mst start by saying that I am not the most clued up person when it comes to drums..more a player than a fanatic so I could really use your help.

I have a slingerland drum kit that I am trying to sell but I cant date it and have no idea of its true value. Can anyone help me understand how to do this?

I will attempt to post a picture soon for what good that will do but any help really would be appreciated!

Cheers

The badges, lugs (and other hardware), and shell types could give you a good indication of the age of your drums. Also, sometimes dates are stamped on the inside shells. Until you are able to get a few good quality pictures posted (be sure to picture the badges) take a look at the Slingerland section of this website under Vintage Drum Identification (at the top of the screen). That should get you started. Welcome to the forum!

If you can't find (or can't read) a date stamp inside the shells, the type of badge on a drum is a good place to start since Slingerland had a tendency to change them every few years. Check out DrCJW's badge timeline on the Vintage Drum Guide to find the one that matches yours. If your drums are recent enough to have serial numbers, you can check the badge type and serial number against his serial number timeline to get a more specific guess on your drums' age. DrCJW has collected and shared a bunch more info as well -- the rest of his articles are definitely worth a glance.
