slingerland modern solo what wood?

Hi guys, wondering if anyone knows what a slingerland modern solo or new rock is made from? and how many ply?baby crawl2

thanks for the link! so 5 ply maybe? The modern solo I'm looking at is either a 69 or a 70 in tiger pearl finish, a standard 12, 13 16 22 configuration. They didn't seem to put how many ply on the catalogues back then. I was guessing it would be a maple mahogany mix in the shells?

your correct that is the 3 ply shell.the modern solo kit is shown for the first time in the 1963 catalog. take a look. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/slingerland_drumsets_1963.html
