I've got a vintage 10-lug Slingerland chrome over brass (COB) 6.5 x 14 Sound King snare drum for sale. I purchased this one at a local estate sale recently. Although it was in pretty rough shape, cosmetically speaking, it cleaned up quite well. The serial number on the badge is 228408, which I believe places the date of manufacture to around 1976 or so.
Although the Zoomatic strainer engages and disengages the snare wires fine, the knob on the strainer isn't functioning properly. I don't know if the issue is with the knob itself or with the internal components of the assembly. I also have no idea whether this would be an "easy fix" or if it would require some sort of complex repair or replacement. Although the drum can be played in its current condition, I don't know what the long term affects might be, if any.
The rims on the drum are NOT chrome over brass. I'm hoping to get $150.00 plus shipping for this one in its current "as is" condition. Feel free to drop me a PM if you've got any interest. Thanks.
