I was looking for a set of Paiste sound edge hi hats and came across a guy with what looks to be a set of 70's sound edge hats. He has them with a full set of drums and doesn't want to split them up. I don't mind a used set if it saves a bit of cash and I don't have the $600 he wants for the whole set. I offered to trade him and he said he would. The Zildjian hats I have are from the early 70's, 15", and have four sizzle rivets in the bottom hat. The set he has are in good shape except for some slight keyholeing on the top hat. From the picture it looks to not be so bad. I don't think they have any logos on the except for the 2002 logo imprinted into them. They also look like they have been polished a number of times. Any advice on trading? Should I just save up the cash and get a newer set or a nicer old set?
