Hello All,

I'm about to put one of my sets up for sale and i was hoping maybe you all could give me some information on the set.

The set has a Maple Cortex finish from the late 70's.

I bought the 24" kick, 13" tom, and 16" floor used and the badge numbers aren't consecutive. Does this mean the set was put together from separate pieces?

Was there a model name for this set?

The 18" floor was bought afterwards, it has a granitone interior finish and has been re-wrapped.

The serial number are as follows

13" 1946059

16" 1078459

24"1079550

Nice kit!

The fact that the badges are not consecutive does not mean the pieces of the kit didn't leave the factory together. While this may apply to several drum companies, it probably applies even more so to Ludwig. In my 20+ years of owning, playing, and restoring mainly vintage Ludwig kits, I know of only one kit with consecutive badge numbers... It's a '79 12/13/16/22 red Vistalite kit that happens to belong to me. (And by consecutive, I mean LITERALLY consecutive... i.e., if one badge number is 1000 then the next one is 1001, the next one is 1002, etc.)

Most of the time, the factory workers just reached their hands into a box of badges and pulled out whatever number they happened to pull out.
